Who We Are

Every session weaves together the plein air tradition of the Taos Society of Artists; the Indigenous Pueblo painting tradition rooted in natural pigments, flat color, and visual storytelling; and the Spanish colonial santo and retablo tradition using earth-based pigments, gesso, and piñon varnish. Learn not just how to paint, but why New Mexico painters have always painted the way they do.

Hello :)

Haven Sandoval brings a rich cultural heritage to her sessions as a 12th-generation New Mexican. Originally from the farming community of Belen, she ventured east to study Art History at Smith College before finding her way back home. Today, Haven lives in Santa Fe with her partner, Da’Wun, and their "fur babies," drawing inspiration from the land and history that shaped her.
